To get to know Hemingway, you must visit his home outside of Havana in San Francisco de Paula. An incredible estate that is now a museum. Tour the grounds, his home, and his boat "El Pilar". On site there are Hemingway specialists that will brief you on every bit of history of his life and his generosity.
